FAQ
Everything you might want to know.
The most-asked questions about the cooking assistant, voice-guided cooking, pricing, and privacy.
Pann is your AI cooking assistant. Tell it the one thing you've got ("chicken and noodles", or a photo of the item in your hand) and it builds a real meal around it, quietly sized to your goal. Ask it to plan your week or write your shopping list. Recipe apps make you scroll, trackers make you log. Pann just decides what to cook and cooks it with you.
Type or photograph one to three things you want to use. Pann builds one real recipe around them and assumes the usual staples are on hand. Tap the card and cook hands-free with voice-guided steps. Ask the assistant to plan your week from your cooking rhythm or turn a plan into a shopping list. One assistant, three doors: tonight, the week, the groceries.
Anyone who never knows what to cook and defaults to boring pasta, or the gym crowd that hates four-chicken-breast meal prep. You get a real meal from the one thing you have, in about 12 minutes, without a 20-recipe list to scroll.
No. Pann explains each step sensorially ("when a water drop dances", not "180°C") so you learn cooking, not thermometers. The voice coach guides you hands-free.
Just ask the assistant. Pann gives you a calm rescue plan in seconds: pan smoking, sauce broken, food sticking, anything. No more panic-Googling with greasy hands.
Pann is currently iOS only. Android support is on the roadmap.
Name one to three ingredients in plain language, or snap a photo of the one thing you want to use up. Pann builds a real meal around it and assumes you have the everyday staples like oil, salt, and pasta. No fridge scan, no pantry to keep up to date.
Yes. Tell Pann what you cook on and the steps adapt. Stainless steel gets the water-bead test, cast iron gets the patience tip, nonstick gets the temperature ceiling. The same step is coached differently based on what you actually have.
Tap Start Cooking. Pann reads each step aloud with timing cues. Say "next step", "pause", or "repeat" hands-free. No swiping with greasy fingers.
Yes. Ask the assistant to fill your week and it plans your week around your cooking rhythm: variety in proteins and cuisines, easier weekdays, more involved weekends. You stay in control of every slot.
Yes. Ask it to turn your planned cooks into a shopping list and Pann pulls together everything you need, grouped so it's quick at the store. You can add your own items by hand too.
Pann generates a beautiful AI image of every recipe so you see what you are cooking. No more wondering what the final dish should look like.

When you photograph an ingredient, the image is sent to our AI vision service to recognize it and then immediately discarded. Photos are never stored on our servers. Only the recipe Pann builds from it is saved to your library.
No. Your recipes, plans, and assistant chats are never used to train any AI model. Each request is sent to the AI provider in real time and discarded after the response.
All your recipes are visible inside the app and can be shared as plain text. For a full data export, email support@pann-app.com.
Pann requires iOS 17.0 or later. Most iPhones from the last 5 years are supported.
So you can snap a photo of the one ingredient you want to cook with instead of typing it. Photo library access lets you pick an existing photo. Both are optional and only used when you explicitly choose a photo.
Just retype or correct it in the chat. The assistant takes plain language, so you can say "actually it's salmon, not chicken" and it rebuilds the meal around the right thing.
Generating a new recipe and talking to the assistant need internet. Once a recipe is generated, you can cook it offline: voice coaching, steps, and tips all work without WiFi.
