Do I need to know how to cook?

No. Pann explains each step sensorially ("when a water drop dances", not "180°C") so you learn cooking, not thermometers. The voice coach guides you hands-free.

What if I get stuck mid-cook?

Yes. Tell Pann what you cook on and the steps adapt. Stainless steel gets the water-bead test, cast iron gets the patience tip, nonstick gets the temperature ceiling. The same step is coached differently based on what you actually have.
