The Best Recipe Apps for Android in 2026, Tested Honestly

Most best-recipe-app lists are written from an iPhone, which is how Crouton keeps winning rankings on a platform it is not available on. We tested the six apps that actually install on Android on a mid-range phone for three weeks: clipping recipes from real sites, cooking from them with wet hands, and checking what the Play Store version costs against its iOS twin. Here is the honest order.

2. Samsung Food: the best free app

Formerly Whisk, and on Android it feels at home. Saving from any site, a meal planner, a merged shopping list and a community feed are free; the AI suggestions and nutrition goals sit in Food+ at $6.99 a month or $59.99 a year. Busy, but broad. Samsung Food review.

3. AnyList: the best shared shopping list

4. Recipe Keeper: the best cross-platform value

5. Copy Me That: the cheapest clipper

Web first with an Android app, free to 40 recipes, premium listed at about $0.99 a month. The clipper and the editing are excellent; there is no real cook mode. Copy Me That review.

6. Mealie: free, if you run it yourself

Not on Android, so not on this list

Crouton is Apple only.
